Václav Barth - tenor

After studying piano at the primary music school Pelleova and musical education at the secondary school Evropská in Prague, tenor Václav Barth studied sing with prof. Ludmila Kotnauerová at the Conservatory in Pilsen (2003). He completed his postgraduate studies in class of Zdeněk Šmukař (2008) where he also continues with his Ph. D. studies. In March 2008, he joined the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden in prof. Andreas Schmidt.

He gathered experience in vocal classes of Peter Dvorský and Eva Bláhová (2002), at Siena in the Italian Accademia Musicale Chigiana (2003) or in German Beeskow (2006). Singer´s repertoire includes songs, both sacred and concert music and opera arias of Czech and international composers.

He was third in sing competetion of spiritual and concert music in Kroměříž (2001). He won Leoš Janáček award for interpretation of Bohuslav Martinů´s composition.

Since 1991, he performed in the choir Kühn at home and abroad, including USA and Japan. He was a member of opera ensemble in J.K. Tyl theatre and State Opera in Prague. He sang Uriel´s part in J. Haydn´s Creation on concert tour in Čzech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany. He sang on a world premiere of a symphonic ballad Ilena from V. Kaprálová with accompaniment of Brno Philharmonic Orchestra (2007). He performed in Dong Giovanni performance in Wildbad in Germany, in St. Margarethen in Austria and in Estates Theater in Prague. In September 2007, he performed at Prague State Opera and at the end of the year he completed a concert tour in France, where he played tenor part in Pavlicova´s mass Missa brevis. He was on an opera tour in Japan (2008, The Barber of Seville, The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro), featured on many other concerts and recitals in Bohemia and abroad (2008-2009, Martinů Hall, Simon and Jude Church, Bertramka etc.).
